The Division of
Neuroradiology offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services as regards
imaging of the nervous system, spine, and the head and neck. State-of-the-art angiography,
including neuro-interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, myelography, MR
imaging, and CT are available. The division has faculty and equipment specifically focused
to nearly all areas of nervous system, spine, and head and neck imaging directed
diagnosis, therapy, and research. Highlights of the division in this regard are as
follows: Interventional
Neuroradiology: This full-service clinical and research focus provides the most modern
interventional neuroangiographic techniques. Neurointervention also takes the form of
diagnostic and therapeutic non-angiographic procedures, including all types of
image-directed aspiration, biopsy, and drainage. Conventional myelography is also provided
as needed.
MR imaging: This
important clinical and research service provides a full-range of diagnostic and research
MR services, including functional MR, MR spectroscopy, MR angiography, MR venography, CSF
flow imaging, as well as complete structural MR imaging of the brain, head and neck,
spine, spinal cord, and plexus.
CT: State-of-the-art
CT equipment is available including the ultra high-speed ""Light
Speed"" scanner from General Electric, permitting extremely high quality CT
angiography as well as a full range of other diagnostic and research CT applications.
Faculty members
specialize in clinical actitivies and research in all of these above described areas.
Ancillary support is available at all levels including nursing, anesthesiology, and
