| Pre-requisite:
One-year diagnostic neuroradiology training or 100 diagnostic cerebral
angiograms performed from other fields of training.
This fellowship
is designed for individuals who desire sub-specialized training
within the field of interventional neuroradiology. In addition to
direct care responsibilities, this would include endovascular surgical
approaches to diseases of the brain, spinal cord, head and neck,
and spine. These responsibilities include not only performances
of various neuro interventional procedures, but also clinical, post-operative
management of patients, participating in call as well as evaluating
patients in an outpatient clinic. The fellowship involves extensive
training under the supervision of 2 full-time faculty in both diagnostic
and interventional neuroradiology.
Applicants from
radiology are required to have completed residency in diagnostic
radiology as well as 12 months of diagnostic neuroradiology training.
Applicants
from neurological surgery or neurology must have completed residency
as well as engaged in 100 diagnostic cerebral angiograms. Our program
currently accepts 1 trainee per year and the minimal fellowship
duration is 12 months.
The University
of Michigan’s Interventional Neuroradiology fellowship will
not participate in the NRMP Match Program.
